December 31 Where has the time gone!Well a lot of time has passed since my last blog!!! I have been to NC and back. I had a fun time with my family and my friends. I taught some classes at the ARC and ate great food! Then I came back to California. Then for Christmas me and Andy headed to Tahoe for some snow for Christmas. I tried to ski but the California mountains are a little much for me, so I went down once and then headed for coffee and a hot bath, while I told Andy to enjoy the slopes!!! Since then I have been hanging in there going to work, playing with the dogs and hanging out with my friends here. I will be headed out to Iowa and Minnesota for more PUMP trainings which I am very excited about:) Well I will try to put up some pictures soon! Until then take care and know that I love ya! November 05 Since the Trainer SummitWell since the trainer summit we have been to a king's game (7th row seats), participated in our mall event, where we taught classes, went to the pumpkin patch and picked out a pumpkin, and took our dogs to Old Sac for an afternoon and then carved our very first pumpkin. It has been very busy but a lot of fun.
Some other things that are happening:
Gracie (black and white dog) has figured out how to jump the 6 foot fence, open the latch to the fence and has run away 3 times. Since then we have put a board on the gate with a lock (hoping this will prevent a breakout for a little while).
Another cool thing: It finally rained...after 6 months (like really rained)
Well, I will be home in a few weeks and I am very excited to see everyone. I love all of you and I miss you and the turning leaves and the rain but I will see it soon. TTFN! October 11 ChicagoWell over the past few weeks all that has really taken place is studying. I studied and studied for my AFAA group fitness cert and I think I passed it!!!! The AFAA cert was one of the reasons I ventured to Chicago, the other reasons were, it was my first Les Mills Trainer Summit, I got to see Glen (PUMP Director), Dan (RPM Director), Mark (STEP Director), Lisa (ATTACK Director), Dan and Rach (COMBAT Director), Jackie Mills (FLOW Director), Gandalf (JAM Director), and Emma, Josef, Kim Blake, and other awesome coaches and trainers!!!! I got to meet all of the Les Mills Big guys!!!! I had a superb time. I also went around Chicago (all by myself)...I took a boat tour, went shopping, even went to a sit down reataurant and had dinner by myself (I am finally a big girl). I really did have a blast. The best thing about it, I met all of the other trainers, made new friends, and I get to see them all again at the Global Trainer Summit in Cancun:) Well, now I am back to regular life and it is time to settle back in. One more thing before I go...Andy Happy Monthaversary (23 MONTHS!!!) I love ya! Oh by the way, Andy taught his first PUMP class with me on Monday (Yay!) September 17 As I sit in the Alabama airport...As I sit in the Alabama airport...I think, how did I get here? It all seems like a BIG dream. Last weekend I went to Uncle Ed and Aunt Betty's house in Lafayette, CA. My Aunt Dot, Uncle Bob, Aunt Ruth, Uncle Mitch, and cousins Tim, Linda, and Al were all in from Asheville. We had the best time. We went to Uncle Ed's sons house (Danny) and I got to meet all of Uncle Bob's and Uncle Ed's side of the family. Now I have family in Califonia that really isn't blood related to me but I still think they're family. I now have more aunts, uncles, and cousins...kind of refreshing:) That was all well and good. Then on Tuesday me and Andy went to Tahoe. We rode our bikes up to inspiration point and to emerald bay. It is absolutely beautiful there!!! Then this weekend I hopped on plane to Birmingham Alabama for my first Pump training on my own!!! Boy was I scared. I had an absolute blast. I had the best group. I love my job, because of people like them. They love pump as much as I do. They want to help others and change lives. They love to workout and they love to grow. I can't wait to do it again. But wait...there's more...I got to see my Mom, Dad, and my nephew (Lane), who I haven't seen since April!!! They drove in from Asheville and stayed all weekend. We had a great time, eating, walking around the mall, and catching up. It was as if I never left! It all still seems like a dream though. I mean I am in Alabama...holding a Pump training (my dream), with my family (who I have missed dearly), and now I sit here in a airport typing this into a computer wore out and I don't know how I got here. All I know is I had an awesome weekend, I love my family, I love Les Mills, and I love my boyfriend (who I miss). By the way, Andy went through Pump training in Sacramento this weekend. I don't know how he did yet, but I know he did well. I can't wait to teach classes with him!!! Well, I love you all and now I am going to rest. I will post some pictures and soon as I can:) September 09 Okay...the story of the TriathlonWell here I am a whole week later telling you about the triathlon. Well lets say it started like this. I take my bike on Friday (the day before the triathlon) to I Bikes (local bike shop) to get tuned, lubed, fixed, and checked. It all went well until...I get home take my bike off the jeep rack and what do I find...a flat tire (I think luckily tonight instead of tomorrow:)) Then Andy takes me to Macaroni Grill (carb up for tomorrow) and then we head home. Well I get to sleep about 10:00 and then at midnight I wake up because my neighbor is yelling outside. I was like, what is the deal? If you knew my neighbor, he is not that kind of guy. Well his dog jumped through the screen window after a ladies dogs...that she didn't have on a leash!!! Well then I get back to sleep and at 3:00 am the door bell rings. I nudge Andy to go see who is at the door. Well...it is a girl, saying that our Honda just got broken into. OK!!! She saw it happen...they used a card around the window, opened the door, popped the hood, unhooked the battery, cut the horn wire, tore off the plastic around the steering column, and then the lights flashed so they took off. So we are outside, checking out the car, the next door neighbor hears us talking, so now he is awake...and now we call the police to right up a report. Now we wait...and wait...and wait. So now, next door neighbors wife is outside talking with us...it has now been an hour since the police were called. Andy pulls the car in the garage because the police are still not there and we don't think they're coming and it is now time to get ready for the triathlon. So now it is 4:30am, time to make coffe, make breakfast, get dressed, get everything together and go. We get to the TRI on time, get everything out ready to go. Now we are warmed up and ready for the swim. We get in the water, sing the national anthem, and my goggles fall apart!!! OK! Now, Branden is looking through the water trying to find the plastic piece of my googles to piece them back together. Found it and problem solved. OK...nothing else can go wrong, and it didn't, thank GOD!!! The swim was hard, I kicked booty on the bike, and held on in the run. I had a wonderful time and I can't wait to do another one.
That being said...Andy is training to maybe do the swim in a relay Triathlon in October. So we went to Granite Beach on Sunday and swam and then on Labor Day and did again. I am so proud of him and he is going through Bodypump training next weekend and I am doing my first Bodypump training on my own the same weekend in Alabama.
Then last night we went to the Glass Turtle to wish my friend Jessa off to a safe trip to Saudi Arabia. She is going for 3 months. So we got together and sang kareoke and had fun!
I have more photos of the Triathlon...my camera batteries died. I will get them up soon. Enjoy all the other pictures. Love you all and have a great weekend! I get to see Aunt Dot, Uncle Bob, Tim, Linda, Al, Aunt Ruth, Uncle Mitch, Aunt Betty, Uncle Ed, Danny...I don't know who else, tomorrow at Danny's house. I will take pics. I am excited. Also Mom, Dad, Lane...I will see you next weekend...I am so excited...I can't wait:)
By the way here is the website with the official results from the triathlon www.doitsports.com/newresults3/client/145847_170563_2006.html and you can scrolldown to female 25-29 and see my results:)
August 26 Mather Mud RunWell Today was my first ever real event. It was just another training event for the triathlon, but I have never been registered in an event where you pin a number on and run a course:) I had a blast!!! I ran the relay with Elvis, Nike, Ruthie, me, and then Marc took up the end. It was a 5 mile relay and each person did 1 lap. You start out with a jump or hurdle over bails of hay, then a small wall, then you have about half a mile, then some more hay and bails, then you run through puddles of mud while fire hoses blast water at you, you then finish out with a big mud pit that you dive into and crawl through as military men yell at you. It was so fun...I would do it again:) Check out the pictures. You will see my friend Diane, Marc (my boss), Bill (the owner of the club), and everyone else I work with during the week. August 19 Training!!!Well my friends, today was my first taste of a triathalon. We did the whole thing. A .6 mile swim, 15 mile bike ride, and a 3.8 run. It was quite exciting. I finished the whole thing in 1 hour and 44 minutes. I will have to say that God definetly had a hand in it. I prayed the whole time. There were times that I wanted to quit, in the swim and in the end of the run, but God pulled me through. I definetly felt great after it was done and I can't wait to do it again! Although I am going to need some work on the swim:) Well check out the pics...I am headed to bed! I will catch up soon:) August 13 Lots going on!Ok, so where do I start? It all began on Wednesday...Travis (Andy's half brother) touched ground at the airport. It was late when he got here, so all the fun began on Thursday. Andy and I both worked a half day on Thursday and then we headed down town. We started at the capital building (which I haven't even been in yet). It was very cool...full of lots of history and fun facts. We even saw the govenator's office and he was there, so we could not go in. Then we headed to Old Sac, where we found candy, trains, and some fruit smoothies. After that Andy made us his famous spaghetti and we ate too much:)
Well Friday began a whole new day. I had to work until 2:00, but we had plenty of time to hit the water park. By the way from the pictues it doesn't show any of the really cool slides that really flip you around but you get the picture. We had a ton of fun...got scared a lot, had too many wedgies, and swallowed some water, but we had a blast in the process.
Later that night we headed out to Cal Expo for the state fair. We brought my friend Ashley with us. We ate sausage dogs, corn dogs, krispy kreme doughnut chicken sandwich (not me by the way), deep fried pickles, deep fried oreos, and funnel cake. All in all probably should not eat anymore for a week:) Then we rode the biggest traveling ferris wheel in the northern hemisphere (15 stories high) and won a gold fish (named him Travis, after his uncle).
Then Saturday we went to San Francisco. Domenic escorted us around. We first headed for some food, after we were stuck in a lot of saturday traffic. So we went to the fishermen's warf and had some clam chowder in a sourdough bowl (yummy), then we walked along the pier. We ended up coming across a break dance show, which was pretty amazing and the really cool thing about it...it was for the D.A.R.E. program. After that we ended up at the Ghiradelli chocolate factory for some icecream and then down the crooked street. We ended the day at the Starbucks in Salsulito at the marina.
We had a fun filled weekend:) Andy took Travis to the airport early this morning. So our lives are now back to normal except for now we are pooped. So we went to church, to the grocery store, ate lunch and now we are resting. I hope you all had a restful or a fun filled weekend and that you are ready for the week ahead.
In closing I wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wonderful sister...she is now 23 (maybe not) how about 32!!! Man you are getting up there:) And welcome home Lanester!!! My sister probably got the best birthday present (Lane back home with his mommy) I hope you guys go out and celebrate:) I wish I was there to give you a big kiss on the cheek and a big huge hug...I miss you and your beautiful smile:)
I miss all of you and think about you all the time. It gets a little harder every day to be away, but I am half way there until I will see all of your smiling faces again!!! I love you!!!! July 31 count downWell the time has finally arrived...1 hour and I leave to go pick up the love of my life, the twinkle in my eye, my best friend, my pookie, my love...you get it. I get to go pick up Andy!!! I am so excited to see him. I am gonna squeeze him and give him a big smooch. I just wanted to share how excited I am. I LOVE ANDY:) July 29 Boot Scootin BoogieSo it is now Saturday morning and I am headed to Nimbus Fish Hatchery for a run, but last night I went...line dancing. I have not been line dancing in atleast 10 years. I used to go to Tarwheels skating rink on Thursdays (I think). We had fun. We went at 7:30 for lessons. These people out here are serious about his stuff. I did a lot of watching. The really cool thing is there were people of all ages. I love watching the couples and the cute little older ladies. The music was a little much for me. I can handle Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, and Reba, but not the Country and I mean COUNTRY songs. All in all it was an experience. I left about 10 o'clock because I was getting tired and I had to be up early this morning, but I might go again some time.
Well I only have two more days until Andy gets back. Right now he is in Nashville visiting Marlee. He is having a blast. His mom and sister came to visit too. Also, Deborah and her daughter came to visit Marlee. Hopefully he will bring some pictures back with him!
Well my friends, I hope you have a great Saturday!!! I am headed to Vacaville this afternoon (outlets) with my friend Laurie. We are going to go check out the bike outlet. I hopefully wont find a lot that I like. I plan on doing a lot of LOOKING! I have a long day ahead, but I plan to have fun...so I love you all and I really miss you and Asheville.
(By the way...it is finally out of the 100s. We had a record of 12 days in the 100s. It got all the way up to like 114! Finally some relief:)) July 18 Our first 62 mile rideWell my friends...we accomplished another goal... me and Andy rode our bikes from Negro Bar to Old Sacramento and back!!! This whole trip was 62 miles and it took us 4 hours and 20 minutes. We had a lot of fun, saw a lot of pretty scenery, and now our butts hurt!!! We had never ridden that far and now we have:) We stopped when we got to Old Sac and got a smoothie and stocked up on gatorade. Then we rode as fast as we could back and then we died. We were so tired...but we slept so good. Check out some of the pics from out trip.
I am going to try to remember to start taking more pictures of my runs and of the bay where I swim. It is so beautiful out here but so different. If I remember this week I will take some more.
One more thing before I go...Happy Birthday Anna July 16th and Happy Birthday Steph July 17th...I miss you guys and I hope you had an awesome b-day!!!
I love all of you and I miss you crazy, don't forget to email me or call!!!! July 11 FINALLY!!OK, so I am now 26:) Andy took me to my first A's game. We had so much fun, I had a hot dog and cotton candy and Andy had some $7.50 beers and a polish sausage dog. I got a Frank Thomas t-shirt, Andy got a hat. Then we left the game and went by the outlets and guess what...did not buy one thing. I am very proud of myself. But since then I have bought Kermit (my new running shoes), I think they make me run faster. Now for everyone who knows me, you might want to sit down for this one...they're not nike's. I know, start breathing. I bought asics. It's funny because I feel like I am being disloyal. But as I have said time and time again, it is all about the shoes.
Also I just went through a rough 48 hours of RPM training. It was hard, but I had fun!!! I sweat, then I sweat some more, and then I sweat some more. For the team back home, I have a few words of wisdom. When you go through the training, make sure you have your padded bike shorts (don't wear undergarments...it will hurt, and you should know that), also have your bike shoes with the clips (much easier to push and pull), bring atleast 2 changes of clothes per day, bring gatorade (or something similar), and a towel. Just a few pointers. By the way you will love the race of truth:) I love this RPM release. I am so excited about it and I can't wait to teach it.
Well I love you all, enjoy the few pictures and I will talk to you soon!!! July 09 slackerWell I have been quit the slacker. I just got through with 48 hours of RPM training. I will hopefully update my space tomorrow with birthday stories, pictures, and RPM info. So come back and catch up tomorrow:) June 25 Fit Fair 2006Well here are some pictures of the first launches in California. We held a fit fair, so we launched PUMP outside and then had FLOW in the Group X room. We had a blast! What was great was that all the instructors husbands participated and so did Andy. I thought that was so cool. Everyone was so supportive! Well I hope you enjoy the new pictures. My friend Diane is the one in the hat standing up in the first PUMP picture, just so you know. Well I will catch up soon:) June 18 Happy Father's DayHappy Father's Day to the best daddy in the whole wide world!!!
When I was little my dad would make me breakfast, pack my lunch for school, take me to school, or pick me up, play with me, and let me get away with a lot. At a young age I realized that my dad was different then most of my friends dads. As I got older I realized that there are not many men out there like my dad. My dad is a very special man that does things that most men won't. He cleans the house, does the dishes, does laundry, vaccums, ...
He has no problem helping out. He is an awesome man of God and I am thankful that I God blessed me with him as my dad. I know that I am one of few kids that had an awesome childhood. I had two wonderful parents that are stil married and still love each other. Thank you dad for a great childhood and thank you for the close relationship that we still have. You are an amazing man and any little girl would have been blessed to call you Daddy:) June 15 He Ain't the leavin kindThis song by Rascal Flatts really was the beginning of pulling me out of my faith rut. I would listen to the words so loud in the car and just cry, beacause I thought God had left me, although I knew the truth.
They tried their best to drag Him out of a courthouse down in Montgomery
And now they wanna kick Him out of school
And take Him off our money
They can take those words off of paper and stone
But He ain't gone, no
He ain't the leavin' kind
He'd never walk away
Even those who don't believe
And wanna leave Him behind
He ain't the leavin' kind
She stayed mad at Him for a lot of years for takin' her husband
started losin' her faith and thinkin' that her life meant nothin'
But when she looks at those kids she raised all by herself
she know she had some help, yeah she knows
He ain't the leavin' kind
He'd never walk away
Even those who don't believe
And wanna leave Him behind
He ain't the leavin' kind
No matter what you do
No matter where you go
He's always right there with you
Even those who don't believe
And wanna leave Him behind
He ain't the leavin' kind
no, no
He ain't the leavin' kind
He ain't the leavin' kind
June 08 More Pictures! So it has been a few weeks since I have actually been to San Francisco, so I can enjoy the pictures all over again! I don't think that I have taken any pictures since. I need to. You guys should see the awesome view from the trail that I run on and the awesome trail that we ride on. We also just take some rides around the streets but it is much better on the trails. Anyway these are pictures of Uncle Ed and Aunt Betty. They live near San Francisco so they took us on a tour. This was the first time I have ever really spent a lot of time with them. They are really great people. They have great hearts and they were so sweet. They put up with us all day:) We had lunch and dinner with them. My dad was still in town at this point. So yes we took the trip about a month a go. Sorry it is taking me so long to get everything up and going. My computer is getting a makeover right now so I am writing this from Andy's computer! I will try to take some more pictures so you can see a little more about where I live and work and all the fun stuff about California. Until next time have a wonderful time and know I am thinking about all of you!!! June 05 Just a little encouragementWell, what do you do when you need a little encouragement? I buy things. Me and Andy went shopping yesterday for things that we needed...I guess. Well I just started running again, on trails and mountains...yes we do have steep cliffs and it is hard to run up them. I have found me time with God once again after about a 6 month drought without Him all the time. I found myself falling away from Him and I found myself hating running. So I thought why not talk to God to help me get through this run. I did and I love it now. I run which is good for me and I continue to grow closer to God, which if I don't my life falls apart, because I can't live without Him! So I didn't really buy shoes for an encouragement to run I guess, but because I didn't have any trail shoes:) But I did get running socks and some running shorts. Andy got some really cool blue shoes and some jeans that he looks really cute in. I missed him so much when he was gone, but now he is back home and everything is going better then before he went home for a week. Anyway, we also went to dinner and we just spent the day out. So we bought some encouragement while we were out, but you have to do that sometimes. You buy shoes to keep running, you buy jeans so that you want to go to work, and you pay for dinner out somewhere so that you get to spend that time together to keep the encouragement in your relationship. Last but not least your biggest encourager is God, He will encourage you to live another day to its fullest, which I want to do once again...because for a while, I didn't. May 28 Our house and putt-puttSo I finally added some new pictures!!! I put up the pics of our new house in California and of our putt-putt game. We love our new house and our new neighbors but we will probably move when our lease is up. We have found that we can live in Roseville (where I work) for the same price in a brand new house in a brand new neighborhood! But for now we are good:) By the way, the pictures of the putt-putt game...I won! I won! I won! I used to win all the time but I haven't won in a while. So finally I won again.
What's new in our world? Well I started running again and I plan to do a triathlon in September...maybe. I have always hated running and I am not very good at it, so I decided to get better at it! Today we are going kayaking for the first time, with Truadventures, which is part of the gym I work at. They run all of the outdoor adventures, such as...kayaking, running, biking...you get it. Well I hope you enjoy the pictures. Come back soon and I will put up the pics from San Francisco. Have a good weekend!!! |
